By a sudden shift in power (e.g. when reversing from forward to backward during an emergency stop) will the engine not provide more than 1000 RPM whatever the throttle position is. Also when maneuvering in the harbor will the engine sometimes not give me more than 1000RPM. Only very slow power transitions will allow the engine RPM to increase to the throttle setting, sometimes that takes up to 30''.
Two mechanics think it is a gearbox problem, Gearbox specialist think it is something else (e.g the turbo). All cables and rods have been checked and found OK.
The VOLVO penta (netherlands) main dealer just wants to sell me a used refurbished gearbox (no guarantee and not tested) without even looking or technical testing my present gearbox.
Has any one experience or suggestions?
