Volvo Penta TAMD71A performance

I am looking at a 96 Mustang 3800 Flybridge Cruiser it has twin Tamd71A with around 700 hours on each. The sales guy tells me I can expect a cruise speed of around 22 knots at 2200 rpm at about 70 ltr an hour. Can anyone tell me if this is likely or not

Sounds very optimistic. I would say closer to 120 l/h at 22 kn.
also shouldn't it be 71b's or even 72's in 1996?

Yes I thought 71B's but I have been in the engine room and they're definitely A's. Very very tidy engine room and a very well maintained vessel but I was sceptical that a 38 foot mono hull would be that fuel efficient

TAMD71A's went out of production in 1994, so maybe they sat around in a warehouse somewhere for a couple of years.
As to fuel consumption, I can't find the actual figures, but would estimate 90-100 l/h.
