hello there,
i have recently bought a volvo penta sterndrive which is about a 1975 model and is a aq115b.
it has come without wiring loom and wondered if any readers knew which connected to the coil..
or have a manual with wiring diagrams etc they could email me.
know there are only the normal two connections one each side of the ht lead..
one goes to the dizzy obviously and am i right in assuming the other is just a 12volt supply from the ignition switch ?
many thanks for your help everyone.
oh and one more thing..is the coil connected to ground via its casing ?

You should have a 12v supply from the ign key to one side of the coil marked with a + or 15, the other side marked with - or 1 goes to the dizzy, There is no earth required for the coil itself, so as long as its securely mounted it will work.
Good luck Steve

Very stiff and jamming gear selection

Folks,
I have a problem with a Volvo Penta DP outdrive leg, in that selecting either reverse or forward occasionally jams the drive in gear. To get out of gear requires considerable force. I have disconnected the cable at the dual station unit, and proved it towards the gearbox. Looks like a Red Jacket cable which raises my suspicions the previous owner had noticed the problem, but didn't do anything about it... I think I am looking at a liftout and gearbox stripdown but if anyone has any great tips for fixing this, I'd gladly hear them!!
Cheers,
Jeff
