Volvo penta s120 saildrive oring placement for drain hole

Hi all

I am about to replace the oil in my saildrive and have been advised to replace the o-ring in the drain hole plug. However when I ordered from golden arrow I was met with differing advice on whether the oring goes directly onto the nut or sits in the saildrive housing. As I understand it, depending on the answer to this there are 2 sizes of o-rings.

I was hoping someone here has had recent experience of this procedure and can advise me accordingly.

I think it may depend on the oil plug type. Some have o rings, others those flat fibre washers. You will find out when you undo it.

I'm not sure you need to buy a special volvo one. They seem pretty ordinary too me.
