Volvo Penta morse cable

The throttle cable on my VP broke the other day.
I have a new cable to fit onto the Morse control, but I had to drill out the four rivets holding the throttle lever housing.
The old rivets are 5x16 mm which go into a 6mm hole. However I can only find 4.8x16mm monel rivets. Will these be adequate, or should I buy 5x16mm Alu/steal.

Not normal to have to drill out rivets to change cable
