On my 1990 Fairline Sedan, the port flybridge throttle cable has broken (thankfully it was incident free) and i need to replace it. Currently fitted, and i'm assuming it is the original, is a volvo penta cable which has a brown coloured outer sheath and is connected to standard factory fit volvo throttles.

I've assumed, but just wanted to check with the forum, that the type of cable shown in the below link could be used as the threads for the fittings / cable clamp positions etc would be the same as the volvo penta cable.

Thank you in advance for any replies and advice given.

you must buy Volvo they are the only ones that work................................................................?

The volvo brown cables were TX now part of teleflex who also include Morse
Any cable to 33C spec will do but there are supreme and other higher standard units that will benefit more complex/longer runs
Length should be marked on the old cable which will also help as mouse to fit the new cable

Thank you for the replies.

Typically the marking showing the length on the old cable is worn / unreadable. Marking on the STBD is 8.0m, so at least its easy enough to measure the extra length that will be required.
As you've suggested Scottie, i'll look into getting the superior 330X type due to the cable run and length required.

Good to here ASAP are a helpful firm to deal with.
