Hello I have recently had the cav pump. Reconditioned on my boat .....as it was easy to take it out can anybody advise on getting the pump back in action again...the stage I am at now is the pump is fitted and the markings are coinciding with both the camshaft wheel and the intermediate wheel .......so all seems to be ok so far .....when I am using the lift pump to bleed the system there is no pressure but the diesel is flowing ...should there be more pressure on the lift pump or am I not venting properly....? Liam
 
Slacken the injector pipes at the injectors and crank the engine until diesel appears at the union then tighten up and it should start.
 
The lift pump is worked by the camshaft and if the engine stops with the cam high then the lift pump cannot work . Answer rotate engine till pump comes off he cam.

PROBLEM SOLVED.....
I would like to thank all concerned that helped me with the problem i had with the diesel pump and the refitting of it ...all the
advice i was given and i can tell you that the engine is now working beautiful and is running like a mouse,s heart......thanks to all ....Liam
