The air filter unit for my MD5B hp Penta engine, is nothing more than an oil and rust filled frying pan, which until recently cleaned, throttled and silenced the inlet air efficiently enough. But in spite of bi-annual cleaning and re-oiling has corroded through in places. The replacement Volvo Penta unit is expensive and will inevitably suffer the same fate. Does anyone know of a source for an alternative replacement, with nice stainless steel casing and foam or paper filters?
Additionally, does anyone know a source of second hand or pattern Penta parts?
