Volvo Penta MD22P-B Radiator Cap?

The "Radiator Cap" on my Volvo Penta MD22P-B is venting coolant. The sea water flow seems OK, and there is no temperature alarm.

First of all, what is this really called? I can't find it on Marine Parts Europe.

Do these get tired and need replacement, or should I look elsewhere for a problem?

Hi Nigel

If you take the cap off, inside you'll find a rubber seal. These deteriorate and start to leak coolant (mine did the same).

They're about £4 fro a VP dealer, and they usually have them on the shelf because it's a common item.

I know that Motortech at Gosport or Port Solent have them in stock.

Thank you, I think you solved the problem: I have a feeling the striped hose has become detached from the expansion tank!
