At present I'm delivering a boat with an MD2020D. I've fixed a load of silly little problems but one has me baffled. The alarm does not work. The control panel has no ignition switch just on/off button, glow/alarm test plus push start. When it's turned on the oil and battery lights come on but not the temp and glow lights. The test switch works but nothing happens.
Anyone had anything similar?

My panel is identical All my lights were dim and the alarm didn't work. I replace the light module and fittted a new buzzer. The lights are now excellent and the alarm is still non existent. I wish someone would tell me how to fix this as it bugs me that I can't get it working.

Sounds like diodes in the overly complicated alarm module are playing up.

There were a couple of very actve threads on here a couple of months ago.

I have now re-built mine from scratch, and have a detailed wiring diagram and component list to make a new one, including a description of what the complex array of diodes actually do, for which other forumites actively contrinuted to aid my own understanding.

Here is my version ...

However, I am not convinced yet that the LED solution is the best way to do this, and re-using the light block has several advantages.

For certain diodes failing it might be possible to insert a diode in the external wires to the multi plug to restire some of the functonality.

Would you consider doing mine?
