Hi All,
I’ve been rebuilding the top end of my Volvo Penta MD1B. I have a spare MD2B for parts.
I blew the head gasket because of a small channel between that had formed between the water jacket and the combustion chamber. I’ve lapped in new valves, cleaned off the old gaskets, removed the old injector sleeve (the old injector would not fit) and in the process of testing the injectors, of which I have three.
The original injector has 3 distinct jets (that activate at the specified pressure), one has 2 and another 4 (but at higher than specified pressure). The workshop manual does not specify the number of jets but does have a diagram indicating 3 (attached)
Does anyone know how many jets there should be?
