Has anyone had their after coolers and heat exchangers service by a Volvo Penta Dealer.
A family member looks after someones private account and has needs to check if it a fair amount as some items on the invoice seem expensive for what they are ie. 8 x 0 rings p/n 3588536 at £22.50 each amongst others just on the intercoolers! A new exhuast riser and cover £2200
They have asked for a breakdown of the labour cost as this has been lumped together with a lot of other service work ie Seakeeper gyro service (parts £1k)
air con servicing etc Invoices total £20K but no break down of hours just lumped together
Did not include engine or pod drive service.
So would 16 hrs be fair amount for cooler service

You can check parts prices by using the marinepartseurope website, that lists prices for every vp part.

Thank you for reply, Yes did look at that and surprised what looked like a £2 o- ring was £22.50 . Thats why i posted that just to point out how inflated their prices are.
Thanks for the pointer though

The other place you can look for UK rrp is RK Marine's webshop, where the part number you have quoted is listed at £30.72 inc vat. The riser price sounds about right, depressingly.

Thank you for reply
Yes realize nobody is going to get rich on a £2 O_ring but as you need 4 per cooler £130 per engine is a bit steep but thats volvo
Its the time taken to service the after and intercoolers that we are interested as we have no comparison
