Volvo Penta Drive Identify/Compatibility

Hello,
Does anyone know, or is there a good resource for which Volvo transom shields are compatible with which drives and ratios/gears....let me explain....

I have a Penta 290 Shield ( i know that as can see part number), and a 2.15 ratio leg which i'm not 100% sure which type it is (I'm assuming a 290, but how do I check?/identify) and I also have a 1.6 set of lower gears to change the ratio....

Now, I want to change to a DP setup, so which DP legs would be compatible, or can you just change the lower part of a 290 leg? and are the gears the same? Would for example a 2.1 ratio DP lower section swap over and take my 1.6 gears for a 290 SP?

Try ordering the DP bottom end as a service exchange unit I think they will take any lower unit back

Having looked at the current exchange unit catalog it would seem that drive exchange components are no longer available?
