Hi,
Was removing fuel injectors on my D6 310 and discovered an oil leak at the aft end of the engine. Looks like oil coming from the rocker cover bolt and flooding around No 6 fuel injector. Looking at the parts list I don't see an o-ring or any sort of sealing arrangement. Any ideas? Picture attached. Thanks!

The bolt is torqued down so there can’t be any O ring so the oil must be coming up due to a damaged gasket.
Thanks David
So it looks like the valve cover is fitted with sealant rather than a gasket. To re-seal the valve cover looks like a big job, to remove valve/rocker cover timing chain off etc...seems a lot of work for one bolt leaking! I wonder if there's any option to seal this bolt?

Thanks David

There will be people who jump on me for this but remove the bolt, clean it and clean the hole with white spirit (or maybe something that evaporates like meths) very thoroughly but without leaving any behind, smother the bolt in red heamatite (non setting) screw back and leave as long as you can (ie days)before starting the engine.
I await applause or ridicule.:sneaky:

David, thanks & Yes, I must admit I have thought about similar solutions too, im guessing it could be worth a try, in the end what's to lose:unsure: Worst think i would have thought would be it still leaks. The only thing by loosening the bolt is reducing the compression on the valve cover to cylinder head joint and maybe making it worse? But it is well bolted so removing only one bolt may not effect it at all. I will wait and see if others have any ideas too.
