I have a Jeanneau Prestige 34 with twin Volvo D4 260HP engines. I'm getting an intermittent problem with the Port engine switching itself off when I shift into Neutral from both Forward and Reverse. When it does this there are no warning lights, of any sort. And the Port engine will always restart straight away. The problem is intermittent - as can be imagined it comes to the fore when operating/berthing within the marina when there might be quite frequent gear shifts.
The boat was out of the water for a while back in April, and I had both actuator cables replaced at that time to see if that would help the issue. I thought that it had, however, it seems to be back again. The Volvo guys have had their funny computer plugged into the engines and have found no faults. Our engineer said that he had temporarily swapped in a different actuator, however that had made no difference. At the moment, therefore, the problem remains undiagnosed.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks, Steve
