Volvo Penta circulation pump

I have removed a VP fresh water circulation pump to rebuild and the housing is damaged .
So a new one is needed , the usual shock was encountered when looking at the -Very Pricey -parts catalogue
a new one is $506 !! from Marine Parts Express .

Has anyone found a common pump to the MD 2010 series pump ?
I understand the engine base was Kubota but looking at the available Kubota types , none are the same .A similar pump for a V8 VPenta engine is only $57 !
Actually the whole , new, V8 engine is less than the cost of a new 2 cylinder 13 hp 500cc plodder from VP .
When are Volvo going to wake up to their ludicrous pricing strategy for older engines ?

2010 is a Japanese Perkins based engine not a Kubota.

I believe the 2010 was based on the Perkins 102-04 engine, in which case the water pump would seem to be Perkins part 145016840.

This link will give you the story on your Ishibaura built VP 2010 & also sold by Perkins as the M series. This 103-xx Ishibaura eng. was used in many tractor,power &other commercial systems. A new circulator pump is $175 US from various suppliers including ebay if you use the non-Volvo/Perkins engine ID.
