Good afternoon

I have just found Hydraulic fuel below the trim pump. When you operate the pump you can hear the electric motor however the leg struggles to go up and down. I would be greatfull if a knowledgeable person could answer a few questions.

Is it OK to operate the engine with the trim pump with no Hydraulic oil in it? IE you can run the engine but not trim the engine up and down.

Will you damage the pump operating it with no oil in?

The manual says that you should check the oil level from a nut half way up the pump housing. This I have done but it does not say where I would refill the oil. How do you refill the oil?

Does anyone have any experience of where these pumps leak from?

Thanks in advance

First top up with oil until its on the max mark on the plastic reservoir or until its abou an inch below the opening. Then run the leg up and down a fe times to get the air out, if there is a leak n the pump or hoses it should be apparent. Its perfectly safe to run the engine without any oil in the pump just will be no trim so don' t run the trim pump unless trying to find the fault.
