Hi. I have a Crownline 210 with a Volvo Penta AD31P engine and 290DP outdrive. I was wondering whether anyone can tell me what 'normal' oil pressure is. The engine ticks over at 700RPM with a gauge reading of around 1.2 bar (around 18psi). As the revs increase, it goes to a little over 2.5 bar (around 38 - 40 psi) where is maxes out over the higher rev range. The gauge at the center of the scale reads 2.5 bar so I guess that I should expect that to be the normal running pressure. I have had this boat and engine for 8 years, during which time the engine hours have risen from 240 to 1040. Now, I am not suggesting that there is anything wrong but I have found it difficult to ascertain what is 'normal' for this engine. Anyone out there with an AD31P that could check oil pressure and report? I should add that these readings are when warm. Cold pressure is around 2.5bar at tick over and remains more or less constant as the revs increase. Oil is 10W40 Semi Synthetic, although it was always the same with mineral oil.
