Volvo penta 5.7 wiring for audible alarm help please

Hello to everyone I have aproblem with the audible alarm on a volvo penta 5.7GS 1999/2000 in that the alarm is sounding all the time - all T's and P's are good. It comes on when the ignition is turned and should go off when the engine fires it doesnt any help appreciated

Need a wiring diagram really but there is not one in the owners manual! So really need someone with a workshop manual.

Are the warning lights working correctly, that is coming on at switch on and extinguishing once started. If so then I suspect a fault in the instrument panel, if not then it will be one of the sensors.
Alternator charging normally?

A friend of mine had a simular problem with a Mercruiser 5.7 of about that age and if I remember correctly the alarm turned out to be warning him of low oil level for the outdrive.
I may be wrong about this as it was a while ago but I think thats what it was.
