volvo penta 290 legs

I'm lifting my boat out shortly for the winter overhaul and plan to service the legs. Not having done this before and with the boat out of the water for only a week i was planning to buy my parts now. The question is what parts am i likly to need, I already have the drive shaft bellows and anodes, what other parts am i likly to need???????????????

Possibly exhaust gaitors,definately some leg oil and how about some antifoul both primer and topcoat.

I'd replace the rubber washers around the drain/fill bolts too. If you find somewhere for these please let me know as I forgot to get some myself

Recommend that you also get 2 sets of the nylon bushes for the hook up forks.... pound to a pinch of pigsh*t they will be shot.. they are £6.44 +vat/pair from Keypart part no876507.

Might also need a replacement jubilee clip for the water hose

I would check out the rubber hose and the cooling Water inlet spiggot (Aluminium)
It is far easier to do whilst the leg is off.

This year (after 6 years) I'm replacing the water rubber hoses that go into the engine (876632)
Have you read the spannerman step by step instructions for the 290 that were on this forum a couple of days back?

They do recommend you change those nylon thingies everytime you whip the leg off.
