Since new 6 years ago the engine whilst cold will give off an OIL ALARM below 1200 rpm, once it has been running for a while everything is fine at idle. Volvo of Hamble Pt have serviced the unit from new and cannot suggest anything, the oil pressure unit has been replaced and the alarm still goes off?? Any thought, is it just low oil pressure to start with as the oil level is checked daily when being used.

When starting up my alarm has gone off a couple of times. Being new to this engine I stop it and started it up again, increasing the turn-over revs. I now just increase the revs and the alarm goes off. It only happened two or three times last season. Its not happened at all so far this season.

Not the same problem I know, but we have had the alarm go off at high revs. Scared us! Searched long in the manual before we found that a fouled fuel filter sets off the same buzzer! We made hasty retreat into port and immediately changed for our new clean filter which we had omitted to change earlier.
