Volvo Penta 2030 max out at 3000rpm, is this normal?

Yacht is 36' fin keel sail drive and is 6000kg. I added a 3 blade folding prop last year but have noticed the max rpm is only 3000. Is this about right or do I need to investigate further?

Boat speed is abut 7.5 knots at this rpm.

Any suggestions or advice please.

The tech data section of your engine owners manual should tell you the max rpm for the engine (3600 I think)

You prop should be sized so that you reach the max speed for the LWL at a little less than max revs

The prop is too big - either diameter or pitch. It needs to come down at least an inch, possibly 2 in pitch to get the revs up to at least 3400. The supplier should have done his sums better if he recommended the prop size. The 2030 (like most modern small diesels) does not like being overloaded in this way.
