Volvo Penta 2000 diesel engine

Hi, would anybody have a handbook/ manual for the above? It is a two cylinder 40HP diesel engine and it does not have any glow plugs. It only seems to want to start with the use of a can of easy start! Has anybody experienced a diesel engine without glow plugs?

I had a 2002 which started like this


1. Throttle at 2/3
2. Pull out Stop control
3. Push in Stop Control
4. Press Start button.

Worked every time.

Maybe this is the same for the 2000?

I'd get the injectors serviced at your local man. Yellow pages?? Or maybe use easy start! Trouble is they do get addicted.

Have a CD manual for D3, D4 and D6 Engines if of any interest bought in error off e bay.

The pulling out of the stop handle might sound daft but that is how the fuel pumps are put into the start setting...The fuel lever must be at 2/3 throttle for this to work.

This is the routine for the 2001 2002 and 2003 and seems to be missing from some manuals especially in the USA .
