Volvo Penta 20/20 Sail Drive Leg

Is it correct that the sail drive leg should be electrically isolated? My unit has a negative solonoid with a negative lead running to the alternator which in turn is bolted to the cylinder block. Therefore, the cylinder block is a negative return. Is this correct? If so, the negative side is connected to the drive leg!

The VP 130S and 150S saildrives are electrically isolated from the engine.

Thanks for reply. However, I should have specified the sail drive leg is a 120S.

The 120S drive, reverse gear and flywheel cover are electrically isolated from the engine.

Can you tell me how it is isolated please? Is it bushes & washers on the bolts that connect the gearbox housing to the engine block?
