What is the suggested "toe in" for 2 x 280 SP outdrives.
All the books say 1" to 5/8 " but this seems to be for Duop props only .

Recently did steering yolk seals and plastic sleeve thingies and in order to get steering arm clamps to grip properly had to rotate yoke shafts slightly.
Seems to be a bit of cavitation when going to starboard, adjusted toe in slightly ,which improved things a bit,but not as smooth if memory serves.
Not keen to do this too often as my eyes are not on stalks and to not have 4 elbows in each arm.

Hi

As you say the manual states the toe-in for duo-props, however when I had my Sunseeker 23DC with twin 140's and 280 SP outdrives I seem to remember the toe-in on that set-up was 3/4".

I am not sure if this is of any help mind you as I gather you don't really want to have to adjust the tie rod, however reading your post again, when you mention "in order to get steering arm clamps to grip properly had to rotate yoke shafts slightly" then I assume they are not in the same position as before you took them apart. Any idea of how much you had to rotate them? That might assist you in working out the old position of the outdrives.
