Good evening, would anybody have an oil cooler for a volvo penta Tamd41 engine for sale as mine has a bad corrosion spot on it causing a leak!!

I had a corrosion leak on one which had damaged the recess that the O ring located in.
Took it to the local machine shop who tig welded and remachined the recess

Yeah, that's where mine has gone, this is an option I was looking at, but I would prefer one that hasn't been repaired.

Engine or gearbox oil cooler ?
I don't have one but if the latter I can explain how to replace it with a Bowman and for a fraction of the the price.

like rocking horse teeth and second only in rarity to the other Volvo Penta Unicorn a secondhand MS4 reverse gear especially the 2.63 version.
Good oil coolers do pop up on Ebay every so often but with 1K price tags.
Reports of rebulding the corroded ends and remachining leading to inexpensive and sucessful outcomes.

You can buy new about £1k from VP ex Vat I think. that should last another 20 years.

Why risk your whole engine for the sake of a new oil cooler .

Mark Look at it another way, I assume you have twin engines, they are about 20 years old so the original coolers have have done their job, if you loose an oil cooler its an engine rebuild and if one trashes itself you could be looking for two new engines, so its worthwhile looking after what you have well. I have 21 year old engines and boat so not good for the cashflow but ok in the long run.
