I have a small fuel leak from the gasket between the crankcase and the injector pump body. The workshop manual refers to the joint as being the point where you adjust the injector angle control!!! anyone know if its safe to replace the washer or its a more serious issue( seals etc in the pump itself) what difference will it make if I'm a degree or 2 out???.

The thickness of this joint is critical to the fuel timing...In fact it may be several shim joints to reach the desired correct timing.

Are you sure it isn't just slack bolts causing the leakage.

This joint thickness must be identically matched.

if the leak is deisel then it is unlikely to be leaking at this point
it may collect there but would not leak at that point
