Hello all, I have an MD2030B with a slight clicking sound.
In 2016, the rocker arm shaft, no. 23 in the attached drawing, broke. I installed a complete new rocker assembly. The engine has run 400 hrs since then, but recently I hear a clicking sound, maybe it was there all along but I didn’t notice. I've re-adjusted the valves, but the slight clicking persists. While adjusting the valves, I noticed that the front and rear rocker arms (colored red in the attached drawing) have axial play of up to 2 mm, so I can slide these rocker arms 2mm over the shaft. The other four rocker arms don't have this play; they are held in position by their springs (no. 24 in the drawing).
I can't imagine this is how it should be and I think these 2 rockers are causing the clicking sound. Maybe someone can check theirs MD2030, 2020 or 2040 (when doing their valve adjustments)?
