Went to start an MD2030 yesterday and the wiring from the relay to glow plugs burnt out. I checked the glow plugs and there doesent appear to be a short at the glow plugs. A bit too much damage to the wires to see if they have been chafing on the engine but the relay box had come loose from the engine. Anyone else had this problem. I can't see how a short at the relay box end could cause the wires right down to the plugs to melt.

Had identical issue with my engine resulting all engine wiring were melted
After investigation it looks like to starter relay was not properly working resulting in continues high power passing the wiring

You need to replace the relay and maybe wiring too.

Nor can I.

The wiring to the relay is the same size and would have carried the same current so is very likely also damaged. You should check that.

The relay may well also be damaged. I would change that.
