I have stripped a volvo penta MD2020B and 120se saildrive unit from the boat to replace the seal as its now seven years old, i have noticed that the splines on the input shaft of the gearbox are heavily worn as is the vibration damper on the flywheel that it connects to, their has been no notable problems so far but is a bit of a worry if it fails, I have seen the spline repairs done to volvos but this dosen't seem possible for this engine and gearbox has anyone had this problem before and is it repairable?
