Volvo MD1B Head

Hi guys,

I've just discovered that the cylinder head on my VP MD1B has cracked......and too cracked to fix as far as I can see

Does anyone perchance have one in a shed somewhere? Or a spare MD1B engine gathering dust.

Not certain, but MD2b and MD3b, might be the same.

Correct but not md1/2 or md11/17

Thanks guys,

I've now discovered that the crack is in the exhaust manifold and not the actual head. This unfortunately seems to be a common problem on the MD1B and thus the manifolds are like rocking horse do do. Has anyone had any experience of having a manifold or block welded? Is this a viable alternative?
