Two years ago I replaced my MD17D with a nice new Beta essentially just because I could, OK so it was burning oil which they all do but an unacceptable amount when motoring for six or seven days straight.
Since then the Volvo has been sitting in the box the Beta came in.
About a month ago someone expressed an interest in buying it.
Bit of background, I'm in Australia just now, the engine is in Chile. David - my man in Montt - has since taken it out of the box, overhauled the injector pump, replaced oil, RW impeller etc, etc.
It has now been given a couple of very short test runs.
However...... there is a bit of uncertainty about the plumbing most of which was disconnected when it came out of the box. It is FW cooled with an external 3rd party heat exchanger and also had a calorifier in the loop.
All diagrams I can find involve the Volvo engine mounted heat exchanger and the only photos I have of the old installation are of the front end of the engine, see pic below.
Can anyone advise on how the FW plumbing should run - without the calorifier?
Oh, we also have another twomug punters discerning buyers interested.
