Anyone know where I may be able to get components to replace the steel exhaust section on my md1? - or alernatively someone who could fanricate a new one (I'm in Glasgow)

It is about 38mm inside diameter and I need various bends and especially a pipe section with a nipple attachment for the cooling water attachment.

I think probably galvanised heating or sprinkler pipe but I cant seem to find anything on the internet.

Keyclamp do a galvanised handrail system that fits together with allen keys - do you think this would be airtight enough for an exhaust?

Many thanks

Gavin

I am not fimiliar with the md 1, however we fabricated suitable exhaust with steel threaded elbows and nipples etc & collars.

I suspect that it is 1 1/4 gas pipe with a nipple brazed on that was the standard at the time and then lagged with asbestos tape. You could use stainless but iron pipe will be ok
The various bends should be of the shelf

This was before vetus introduced their plastic components

Speak to Ian at the Volvo dealer at kip

Bss fittings 0141 418 4444

They should point you to someone who will cut and screw the pipe for you or supply welding bends etc take the old parts with you.
