I have a Broom 18 with a Volvo AQ205 petrol engine.
Ive been trying to remove the cover from the leg to get to the inner workings to remove the gear cable.

The leg is DP CD Trim, and I have taken out the single screw at the bottom on the cover. The top is free and moves easily but the bottom still appears to be fixed?

have I missed something?

I have pictures if it helps.

Chris

It's probably just a bit stuck. Start with lots of WD40 thru the screw hole. Leave it for a bit.

Then try levering the top of the cover forward, insert a couple of screwdrivers either side of the gap, and lower them until something goes ping (no liability accepted for broken bits /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif)

Screwdrivers have been applied but i didnt want to force it if there is something else holding.

At the moment the case is more likely to bend than come free.

Probably stuck at bottom with A/Foul need's lifting from bottom so the pin at the top of cover on the inside clears it's fixing as well, but can confirm this cover is held at bottom with one screw.

I see you mentioned you removed the lower screw from the cover, I am only assuming you have slacken the upper screw. You need to undo that one a few times and make sure the countersunk head is pushed in so it loosens the catch inside. As everone else has mentioned, wiggle the cover side to side, easing from the lower part of the cover.
I have just read your post again and are not sure now if all of this is applicable to your O/D but I still post it just in case.

'The leg is DP CD Trim' ??????

Common put me out of my misery, put the pictures on so I can see what exactly what we are all chatting about.
Is it one or two screws?

That blow up is exactly what im dealing with.
The single lower screw has been removed, the top is not held and yet there still appears to be something holding it.

Bigger screwdriver and rubber mallet will be attempted tonight.

Thanks for the help so far
