Hi guys i got 2 small problems i hope you can help with,

1 i'm getting a small spray of oil from below my intercooler after i been on a run don't happen when running at speed ???.

2 the oil in gearbox smells fishy i'm going to do a gearbox oil change is there a oil filter in the gearbox.
Thanks

Slow speed running may lead to a small amount of oil bypassing the turbo which is then spat out from the drain in the bottom of the aftercooler . This seems to be normal if it clears after going on a fast run.

Check the oil level in your supercharger to verify you are not leaking past the main bearing. Mine did and collected in the bottom of the intercooler.

Is there any way of stopping this from happening

It is a thing with the KAD / KAMD series engines. It can indicate a worn turbo if there is too much but having had two boats with KADs there was always something there. The engine casing has a depression below the breather hole that tends to catch the oil as it drips (not sure if it was intentionally put there) and I just cleaned it out periodically (usually during the winter lay-up).

Thanks for the info guy's
I took the pipes of the intercooler to turbo also the pipe from turbo to supercharger found very little oil just a bit of carbon,
So took the matrix out of intercooler found some oil in base but no great amount,
So it looks like it will come down to regular cleaning when it shows again.

I was wondering if anybody had any ideas about my gearbox oil smelling fishy,
It's a volvo HS45A-A
What grade of oil and how much do it take

Hi,
ATF Dexron ll,there is an oilfilter you see a big round plate at the top right side looking from stern to bow.
Its fastened with a hexagon bolt
