Get your "revolutionary" new drive system............cheap to clear HERE and available at a price somewhat less than the price of a couple of 25 year old 280 outdrives.
Prob a good idea if you have invested in this leap forward in marine propulsion to keep a spare set of drives on board, just in case.
So we can now all agree then, stick to shafts.........KISS. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After "years of extensive research and development blah blah...", they are having paint problems serious enough to change the whole system under warranty, and (apparently) not even bothering to take the original back?
Sounds like the VP board is scared to death about risking the biggest flop of their whole history...
...or maybe not, that's possibly just a fine example of excellent technical service! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Even if you did have the appropriate Volvo engines to connect them to you would need a Volvo dealer to calibrate them. The SUS units are matched to the engine serial numbers. This goes for using them a replacements as well.

Volvo decided I`ve heard that they didnt need anodes when they were first marketed. I know of 2 Rodman 41`s that have had them replaced under warranty due to excessive corrosion due to lack of cathodic protection. I saw a pair hidden outside a well known Volvo dealership ready to be shipped back. They were full of holes. At least they can now recoup their losses by selling rediculously expensive replacement anodes. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
