I have a Volvo2002 with 90 hours on the clock which has recently become slow to start from cold, what i suspect is as the starting ignition key is a little stiff and doesn't always spring back after starting to the vertical, we have left the heater engaged for to long and now even though the heater light comes on the plugs have burnt out? Am I correct and are they expensive? BTW The light does not show up to well in certain daylight conditions. Mel.

are you sure that it is a 2002 as they dont have heater plugs
might be a 2020
heater plugs can be tested see previous post for details
if the the switch is sticking and engine is within warranty why not ask your dealer to replace it

If it is a 2020 as scottie says, then the base engine is the same as the Perkins Perama - Volvo took it over a few years ago and 'Volvo'ised' it. My local Perkins agent says that he never has any calls for new heater plugs and had to order one for me when I wanted one for my on-board spares pack.
