Volvo GLP-Ds - which synthetic oil?

I want to change the oil in my Volvo GLP-Ds (petrol).

The Volvo manual says 0 degrees C and above use SAE30, 20W/50 or 15W/50. Has anyone any recommendation which SAE to use? Also which brand and source (not Volvo)?

given the cost of outdrives, its one Volvo part I m prepared to pay for. But its bloody expensive stuff.

Not sure if you mean engine or outdrive? for the outdrive I would personely only use the Volvo stuff, for the engine just walk into any local motor factor and buy any half decent oil, its not that critcal if you are doing regular changes.

I definitely would use Volvo oil for the outdrives but its engine oil I need.

There seems to be choice of 3 SAE grades and I'm not sure which one to go for.

Is volvopaul still about?

You definately don't want the SAE30 if your in the UK, but either of the other multigrades will be fine, its really not that important honest, although I'm sure some oil geek will be along to explain that it is, yawn...
