For two years I've had trouble with one engine loosing water. It was decided that it looked like a manifold had got a leak, so half the engine would have to come to bits.

So anyway, the mechanics down doing the fan belt cos one was upside down, another story.

Anyway we hummed and haad about the leak, then sudenly he started to undo a litle bracket on about a two inch steel pipe across the top of the engine. I wondered what he was doing cos I felt it must be at least welded in each end, cos there were no nuts or anything to undo.. So he undid the little bracket and the pipe just fell off. There was a bit of an O ring on each end. So he put a bit of grease round them, bent the flimsey little bracket in his hand and stuck it back together, saying, thats all he could do with them. Anyway he must have hit on the right one cos its not leaked since. Although I am sure it soon will!!!
