Hi i have managed to unscrew the old exhaust elbow from the square flange on my md7a engine, what compound do I use when i scew the new one on? cheers

Normally it's secured by four bolts and you will need a gasket to seal the interface.

No gunk required. Just a paper gasket.

There is a gasket between the square flange and the manifold ( Pt No 840902) but the OP was asking about the screwed joint between the flange and the exhaust bend.

Perhaps a little exhaust assembly compound, the thin white stuff in a tube, not the heavy paste, the least it will do is help lubricate the threads.

Yup, that's the Holts version of it, lots of other makes are available.
