Volvo drive dropping and a woeful forum search engine

Hi all.

One of my volvo dpd drives is lowering on its own, both underway and when static. It happens slowly, but as I dry out I need it to stay fully tilted when I leave the boat.
I have read a few threads over the years on here, but I'm b******d if i can find them.
I suspect it's the internal seals in the pump, as there is no leakage evident outside the boat and no loss of fluid level in the resovoir.
Just want to have a read through the old threads and see what the advise is but as I say, I can't find them.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, or maybe summarise the current thinking on this problem. Is it a new pump, or can they be taken apart and repaired? If new is the only way to go, any tips for paying a fair price?

That brought up one good, but old, thread on the subject. I'll have a play around with different words and see what else comes up. I am sure there was a thread only a few months ago where someone was swapping pumps over.

Perhaps MartynG will be able to shed some light as to whether he repaired or replaced, and if replaced, whether he went full fat volvo or aftermarket.

Swap pumps with other side to see if it is the pump or an internal leak inside one of the rams.
