Hi all.
I’ve just done an oil change on my Volvo Penta DPH drive and note that there is a bit of corrosion around the oil drain plug, particularly at the lower part of the drain point. See pic…
I fitted a new oil seal washer (as advised) and put the leg back together and relaunched.
I’m now wondering if the corrosion would affect the seal enough for me to have water migrate into the transmission.
Am I being paranoid here, or should I lift again and seal with something else (e.g. liquid gasket)?
