Volvo diesel fuel/water separator

I have a D1-30 fitted as standard from the Bav factory with a VP fuel/water separator pre-filter. The one on there has a solid metal base and I want replace this with a clear one so I can see the fuel. Easiest would be to just replace the base part of the unit and leave the existing one on there. I have been trying to find a clear bowl replacement on line, but cant find it. Anyone know if this part is available?

Alternatively, I will have to change over the whole unit to a suitable delphi one, which is doable but a PIA.

I don't think it's a specific VP product, just a standard CAV-type filter. To change the bowl to glass, you'll need a deep glass bowl and a flat aluminium filter bowl. See this site for reasonable prices - http://www.ssldieselparts.co.uk/filter-parts-heads-bowls-c-170.html
