Hi everyone

I have a question for Volvo engines users and experts.

My boat has 2 volvo D9 engines serial 7009108494 and 7009108518.

I have done the regular maintenance recently.
For some reason the engine caution and some times warning comes on, i have checked all the required items by the manufacturer manuals and it seems to be normal but the warning still coming.

I have asked the local Volvo dealer to check the code and unfortunately they have charge 850$ only to check the code with out fixing.

My question is if there is away to read the codes and clear it?

Unfortunately alot of people have mentioned that the local dealer here tents to over price there regular maintenance.

I have attached some pictures for the instruments cluster dlybridge and the helm.

Best regards,

No way to read the alpha-numeric codes without Vodia for EVC-B, and the Dealer cost just to obtain the codes sounds like a lot of money, unless they have a lot of travel time to get to you?
Is there a pattern to when this issue occurs?

The dealervwork shop is 45 minutes away.

Another example is the he charger 2700$ for the normal yearly maintenance if there are no major problems that was found.

Are these US $? Pretty steep if so but it is a dealer. Find an independent specialist. My twin TAMD63P diesels cost $720 labour to service, including descaling the Heat exchangers.

The photos don’t seem to show anything. What is happening ? The warning triangle ? It happens sometimes. Mine does it. If the boat is fine don’t worry

At the time the picture was taken the fault was already cleared.

The caution was one 2 weeka ago

The warning was few days back

If the engines are otherwise running well its almost certainly an electronic glitch. I wouldn'
t panic. What might be worth doing is taking out the flywheel sensor and the cam shaft sensors and giving them a clean make sure no rust stuck to the crank sensor. Otherwise check all the connectors and give them a spray with contact cleaner and push together/undo a few times. If there is a real issue the engines will stop or run very rough and it will be more obvious what's wrong.
