Just got my local VP dealer to 'upgrade' the EVC software so that my VP rev counter display will give trip computer functions. However to display e.g. litres/mile need to buy another expensive VP black box I think. This should then allow system to interface with Raymarine E80 (via NMEA 2000) and display engine data on it's screen.
However this is all new to VP dealer! Anyone else done this?
Could you provide some info please.

Dave Moore at Peters looked into this for me in great detail and I decided to buy the EVC displays rather than the interface box to the Raymarine E120. If you get hold of the brochure and look for the items marked with * you will see all the things you DON'T get with the Interface Box!!.

The EVC displays are great and include real time fuel consumption as well as graph comparison between the two engines for everything you can imagine – I think gearbox oil temperature was one of them. Great product - why bother with dials.

This does not explain the features well enough - you need to pick up the Volvo options brochure with the table of features.

Now I am going to sound completly stupid, I don't know what the final bill is going to be as I decided to have two of them (lower helm and flybridge) and only had a quote for one - but I trust Dave Moore to be fair - it is going to be £1800
