Volvo D5 (partly boaty)

SWMBO is getting a new car and has selected a few different one's to test drive for three days at a time, we have had E class Merc diesels every year and wanted to try something different, so today we got an S80 volvo exec car with a D5 diesel. Blimey that car goes like stink!! I could not imagine what two of those would be like in smallish boat, but would certainly be impressive. The engine is so quiet and responsive, if the marinies versions act like the car ones I think they will be fantastic. Got the BMW X5 3.0 diesel next, will be interesting to see the difference.

Get the Merc estate or the X5 unless you enjoy throwing money away in depreciation or buy the Volvo secondhand

Mike, I was just interested in the power of the engine as I think this will be badged as a D3 for marine use. I guess it is a matter of waiting for some trials to be done in the UK.
