This forum has been a valuable resource for me. Hopefully you can help me troubleshoot another issue:
As I idled out of the harbor and slowly throttled up to speed (2700 RPM), my general warning lamp came on and the buzzer sounded. I immediately throttled back to idle, acknowledged the fault, and attempted to retrieve the error code. Then, my oil level light came on. However, there was no code stored in the EVC, and the amber light remained solid (not blinking) in diagnostic mode. I then noticed that my oil pressure was fairly low, and not increasing proportionally to my revs (the oil pressure on both engines normally match/mirror each other perfectly. It struggled to get above 40 psi, while the healthy engine sat at 63 psi while under load. I checked my oil level (normal), no blow-by in the crank case filter, no oil loss in the bilge. Everything "looked" normal.
Does this sound like a bad oil pressure sensor? I didn't have time to swap sensors from the good engine to troubleshoot (but will do that as soon as I return to the boat). Meanwhile, just trying to formulate a plan for further troubleshooting...
Thanks

Warning technical numpty responding. On my previous boat I had a D4 260HP and on two different occasions I had spurious alarms which were difficult to identify. However on both occasions my revs were limited to around 2,000 RPM and it turned out to be faulty oil pressure sensors. As I recall these are not expensive and are easy to replace. After the second occasion I always carried a spare.

Perfect. My suspicion is the same. A good pace to start...
