The seawater pump is £351 and the repair kit is £192 - both including VAT from Keypart. Comparable prices to similar pumps from other manufacturers.

Don't understand why you would want a freshwater pump as these are part of the engine, driven by a belt, but internal to the block. Very rarely give any problems - and it is probably a Perkins part, not specific to the Volvo marinised version of the engine.

Hi
Mine has a small amount of play and now and then it makes a noise I suspect it going to get worst soon ,
So are you saying it a Perkins part ? If you have any more it of it be great , Yes it is driven by the belt your right , I can't understand why Volvo want to charge these stupid prices , most water pumps for car are around the 50 pound mark .
Do any one know what Perkins block it is ?

It is a Japanese built Perkins engine, widely used in industrial applications such as mini diggers. Suggest you find a Perkins agent and ask. However, would be surprised if you find the price is significantly lower than the Volvo price. Sounds like the belt is too tight if you are wearing the bearings in that pump. It normally lasts the life of the engine.

The only moving parts are the shaft and bearing the pump is all metal and very basic . I have seen the Perkins M30 pump on Ebay recently this has the thermostat built into it and should fit Volvo MD 2030 but I think yours is different http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PERKINS-400-SERIES-PERAMA-100-SERIES-WATER-PUMP-145017720-145016901-/121196411505?pt=UK_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item1c37de7a71#ht_1943wt_1098 There is a contact phone no at the bottom of page they may be some help. I would consider rebuilding your old pump maybe with some engineering shop the seals and bearings can be outsourced and most engineers will be able to press out the shaft.
