I've been using flusher muffs on my AQ205 while it's on the hard. Everything going well - engine running as normal. However, I had two sprays of water at the bottom of the transom cover, just above the zinc anode. My question is: is this normal? They seem to be coming from where the transom outlets for the exhaust pipes should be - which doesn't seem right. I have been told the exhaust pipes should connect all the way through the outleg and emerge underneath the outleg cavitation plate. I've checked and I can't see where the outleg exhaust outlets should be under the cavitation plate. I'm sorry I'm not explaining this better. I've been through the owner's manual and the workshop manual, but the owner's one is brief at best while the workshop only deals with the block, not the outleg.

Any suggestions?

Should be an approx. 20mm. hole either side at the bottom of the transom shield water will run out of these while the engine is running if you were to lift the exhaust flap at the end of the cavitation the water will virtually stop comming out of these pipes and come out with the exhaust.

All sterndrives and outboards have these outlets, they are bypass ports for the exhaust to relieve the engine of back pressure when at idle, generated by having to shove several liters of water down the exhaust pipe and out of the drive.
They allow the exhaust to escape nearer to the surface, when you hit the throttle you will see gas then come out of the prop or exhaust on the drive itself.
We always use these to visually confirm that water is circulating through the engine when running engines on land.
