Hi all,

Just been out today, when cruising at 3500rpm the port engine ran back to 3000rpm and wouldn't go any higher. All temps and pressures normal, the prop was not fouled. Went back to idle on both then tried to accelerate, both engines accelerated normally to 3000 rpm then the port engine wouldn't go any higher, stbd engine behaved normally. Had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago but seemed to clear itself, any ideas please

3000 rm is right where the turbo starts to do its job propely,id be looking at the air inlet side ie air filter for blockage, remove the filter and check the turbo shaft for excessive play by trying to lift it up, if there is more than a few thou play the bearings could be worn, also check the intercooler pipes and see if the o ring between the pipe and the turbo has become dislodged, lastly check the fuel side of the engine for a blockage in the filters and fuel lines.

Thanks for the information, just as aside the top of the air filter cover had fallen off when I checked the engine at the end of the trip, could that been something to do with it?
